Shanta Wallace, MS, LMHC, MCAP ICADC earned a Masters Degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. She received her Bachelors Degree in Human Services with a concentration in Gerontology from University of South Alabama. Shanta provides individual, group, and relationship counseling to adults and has specialized training in the field of Drug and Alcohol counseling, HIV/AIDS, LBGTQ community and environmental and emotional stressors such as divorce or loss of job. She has 9 years of counseling experience in Prison Therapeutic communities, inpatient and outpatient services. She has worked with clients having a wide variety of behavioral and emotional challenges.
Shanta has used a variety of approaches to help clients by individualizing treatment. Shanta utilizes Cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, and a holistic approach. Shanta also believe in harm reduction therapy. Shanta is a former military spouse so she brings with her the ability to relate to the military community. MH15387
